I wanted to share an event that is coming up on 9/30/2023 in Scotts Valley. It’s a cause that is close to my heart, as I lost my first wife to suicide, and understand first hand the complicated ramifications and deep sorrows that come from losing a person in this way.
There’s no debate about whether or not suicide is on the rise in our communities; even one is a tragedy, and we’ve sadly had more than our fair share, especially among young people. Suicidal thoughts are often isolating and stigmatizing, which compounds the risk. This event is a great opportunity for survivors of suicide, those who have lost loved ones to suicide, and those who have supported someone who has struggled with it. As a community, we can come together and show folks that even when things seem their darkest, there is hope and support for them. Let’s do this and raise some money for suicide prevention research.
Please join me and my family in Scotts Valley for this event; the link will be below. Looking forward to connecting with you and learning more about how we can help the community with mental health support!
